'The only reson that mac are less prone to viruses just beacuse there are not that many viruses writen for them."
Not true.
There're alot of viruses out there, just not really bad ones for mac. It's not that they aren't out there, it's the structure of the operating system that doesn't allow for it to penetrate or have any effect on the computer.
It's a tool. Use what you like. If you're comfortable using the machine you're using, great. And the same thing goes for NLEs. It all comes down to what works for you. This seems like the kind of arguement that people have to justify to themselves what they're using.
"If everybody is using my computer/NLE, it must be best, therefore I am smart." Yeah, I use a Mac and FCP but I could care less what anyone else uses as long as we can share files when need be. The guy who did the AE stuff for our movie was PC based and we had very few problems, so...
I think that you'll a lot of people out there just as "snobby" about their PC, especially if they built the machine themselves. Both sides are guilty of agressively defending their purchase. It's just a tool.
On a funny note, back when the Mac first came out, I listened to engineers I worked with complain that if it used a GUI interface, it wasn't a real computer. A real computer was an MSDOS machine. rogar-BigGrin(DBG)
