SHORT: Appalachia

How does that Jr. thing work? Do you have to wear it til your dying day, reach a certain age, wait for someone to die or just have a kid to become Snr.?

It's for legal purposes. I have the exact same name as my father, so it's the only portion that differentiates us so that we don't get mixed up in paperwork, bank accounts, ect.

LOL, but it's keeping you at the top of the subforum. Never look a gift horse in the mouth, Bwaa-haa-haa. You need to get some clips going to get it back on track.

Look at your view count compared to the majority of films people put up here.

Logging is finished and we're right around nine minutes, but we can obviously expect several minutes to be trimmed in the cut. It looks like it will be right around that five or six minute mark where we intended.

I should have a couple stills up sometime today.

9 minutes? Wow, you really did manage to get some coverage. No wonder you were exhausted, you must've been running around like headless chooks during the shoot! Lucky I kept the page count down, could have easily been twice as long (first draft almost was). Can't wait to see it.

I've sent the first visual effect to the supervisor. If he gives the okay, I might post an excerpt. Otherwise, I'll have stills up in a few minutes.

Oh, no, this is only logging. You can definitely expect it to be right around where we intended it to be. I've been cutting and one scene already trimmed almost a minute. If you factor in a minute for each of the principal scenes, that cuts down quite a bit. And that's still only an estimate; it could be more or less.

Still from a seen where Adams is contrasting his past with his potential future. (Some ever-so-slight humor in the script here)

If I get some more interested viewers, I will post more stills.

They're coming, man; slowly, but surely. I'll email you the soundless cut as soon as soon as picture is locked.

I just hope they turn out all right!

The voice actor has done his work and I'm waiting on the sound editor (DVXuser member ryanjf) to edit those tracks. While he won't be available until Tuesday, we're going to try to get into picture lock (VFX has taken forever, as the supervisor is pretty experienced, thus intense with the feedback for revisions). After that, it will be scored (DVXuser member Edgen) and off to the final sound mix/design by DVXuser member Doc Bernard.

I'm probably going to make a post introducing full cast/crew. If anybody is interested, I will. This is actually a pretty damn hefty crew for only a six minute short film. LOL - I can't decide whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.

I look forward to seeing this man

Good to hear!

LOL, a bunch of DVX'ers? Oh man, is this project ever in trouble. We cannot even agree that Mac is better than PC for editing......and the 5DMKII is the best camera......EV-ER.

LOL!!!!!! Just messing, Kyran......you have a decent crew.....except for that final sound mix guy..... I hate him.

Wow! I can't believe it has been over a month since I posted in here.

As for updates, I released the final/accurate poster to the public last night (via Facebook). I'm pretty stoked at all the likes/shares/comments it's racking up. You guys can check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...38980029.67391.189185427847308&type=1&theater

Please like the Facebook page if you have a Facebook! As the post says, the only things left are dialogue editing (this has been completed), music score, sound design/foley, and sound mix. As soon as I get the score, it's all up to Doc to do the sound design and then mix and master everything. I can't pinpoint a web release because of festivals (that's even if it gets in any), but I will definitely keep this thread updated way more from now on; the only reason I haven't been is because we've been in the VFX stages for the last month and I didn't want to become repetitive with a ton of updates and no material. I've been letting everybody work at their own pace because of their generous contributions.

The final runtime is close to six minutes. I just hope people like it... It's a bit hard to understand. The writer might have to do a breakdown. LOL

Let me know if my favorite people here at DVXuser want to see a few more stills!

At this stage in the game I'd personally hold off on any more stills. Leave a little.
