aperture control from nikon fit lens on GH1 but not from canon fit?

the lack of numerical F value isn't a big concern as I'll only stop down occasionally but I'd be disappointed if it vignetted or affected the quality in any way...
 
does anyone know about this issue as I'm basically holding out before purchasing but can't find any clarification of this
 
after reading this i took the plunge. For £80 you can't go wrong especially if like me, i often apply a little vignette in post anyway!
