Anything I should know about the Firestore4 ???

Hi there I am a happy A1 owner and ready to take the plunge into buying the firestore 4. I just wanted to see if there was anything I should be on the look out for, before buying it. Will all versions work with the A1 ? Will I need any special software to use it with my Mac Pro ? Any general tips would be appreciated thank you all
 
There is an ongoing thread I saw somewhere...I believe it was DVInfo...about the FireStore not yet supporting 30F and 24F. I'll try and track it down....

Try googling XH A1 and FireStore. I think that's how I came across it last time.

The thread was started in December of 2006. As far as I can tell there hasn't been a solution yet.

It will record in 1080i60 straight to Quicktime format, however if you shoot in 30F or 24F, it will create .m2t files (which may or may not be desirable).

Ideally, it would record 30/24F straight to a QT HD format without using long GOP compression. If this happens someday, will it still shoot in 4:2:0, or would the Quicktime HD files be in 4:2:2 (just like capturing from the XH G1 HDSDI out)?
