Anyone using the new Atomos Recorders?

The Convergent Design Odyssey and Apollo recorders support several models of Samsung SSDs. Some of this media is available for as little as US$3/GB, which is exceptionally affordable.

Just to correct you there, I'm pretty sure you mean $1/3Gb, which is much more in your favour Mitch ;)

So you need to add $60 for a case to hold mSata!!! WTH
why not a slot and just slide the mSata in?

I think Video Devices would say something like their case protects the mSATA cards (and perhaps makes them pocketable) and the USB3 connector simplifies transferring data to a computer or other device. And perhaps mSATA cards aren't designed for repeated insertion and removal. Overall, this isn't a deal breaker for me.

You could say SATA bus is not design for plug in and out daily - there are more SATA drive connector get break than hard drive failure. They should use a DIN connector for 20,000+ insertion/removal - how did the SATA group comes up with that flimsy connector is beyond me.
