Is anyone here using the GH4 + the DMW-YAGH?

If so can you post a photo of your rig?

It is surprisingly difficult to find an actual photo of a working rig (power source, cage, etc) mounted to a tripod. If you do a google search, you see the camera attached to the unit but people aren't showing how they are powering it, where they are placing the battery (is it on rails? is it hanging from the tripod? is it sitting on the floor? etc.)

Thanks!

You mentioned starting with a juiced riggy audio interface before the YAGH. Did you hear any audio improvement with the latter?
Looking at this overall rig, seems flexible..in a franken way..but begs the question..where's the AF200? Have a ballpark $$ for the pictured setup sans lens?

Thx for the photos, I think I have my rig figured out, will post pictures of it here in a couple weeks when I get all the parts in.

*UPDATE* COMPACT GH4+YAGH RIG

After looking at how most people are setting up the GH4+YAGH it was too big and unwieldy, especially for any type of run and gun work.

In my situation, I film pro sports post game press conferences then have to pull the camera off the tripod and quickly onto the mono-pod then head into the locker room for interviews with the players so I needed the GH4+YAGH to be compact and highly portable.

This is my solution:

By placing the battery directly in front of the YAGH, I have complete access to the back of the camera to control both the GH4 and the YAGH. With the way this sits on the tripod head its actually perfectly balanced front and back. Because I only use M4/3 lenses I dont need any kind of rails front or back which helps a ton. This setup allows me to run all day on one battery even if I add a monitor/external recorder. If I need to mount a monitor/external recorder I will just get a bigger cheese plate.

The battery and camera are mounted to an "Ikan Elements Double Cheese Plate" and then onto the tripod.

previously I was using a JuicedLink audio interface but after plugging and unplugging it in so many times or it may have been the actual 1/8" jack on the JL unit itself, if I bumped that cable at all it made my camera flip out screen shut off and back on. There was clearly some kind of short or something reinforcing the fact that the connections on the GH4 are pretty fragile.

The connections on the YAGH seem solid so I should be good now moving forward. And so far the audio coming into the YAGH seems as clean to me as the JuicedLink box was.

Anyway, hope this helps anyone trying to figure out how to decrease the size of a GH4+YAGH rig.

Might find this useful
edit: having difficulty copying and pasteing link, Google smallrig yagh gh4.

currently to get it on eBay you would have to wait until after the Chinese new year.

Here's a shot of the GH4 + YAGH on a Ronin, and a Hot Rod PL.

This set-up was used extensively on a series of commercials which will go live soon enough. Monitoring and 10-bit 4K recording courtesy of the 7Q+.
