Anyone using an old Nikon 50mm f1.4?

Hey all- I have access to an old Nikon Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens (from the old Nikon F slr camera I learned on as a kid!). This lens was manufactured about 1960.

I'm wondering if this would make a good video lens- with the Nikon-->EOS adapter. These sell between $10-25 on ebay.

I'd love to have something with f1.4 at my disposal for better low-light video shots, and shallow DOF.

Anyone have footage of this combo?

Thanks.

Any lens makes a good video lens if you play to its strengths and the old manual focus lenses from all makers have many strengths, especially the primes. Get an adapter and find out for yourself.

Thanks for posting J Davis- what adapter did you utilize?

Have you tried that combo with still images? I've heard of focus difficulties (viewfinder not accurate?)

With video, I dial in focus manually with the shutter up anyways, so I figured this setup would work fine.
