Anyone uses a cavision LCD Viewfinder?

From the B&H site:
Note! The height alignment of the LCD Viewfinder is intended for the Canon 5D Mark II; it may not align properly with other cameras. For use with the Canon 7D, an additional RPC4580 spacer plate is required.

I have it and I initially liked it because it was the only option outside the outrageously priced z-finder. It is a bit junky, the lens is plastic and the image is not great but it works at helping to manually focus and stabilize the camera.

The adaptor piece that fits it to the lcd screen is very cheap rubber and has a strong odor.

I bought the hand grip and the viewfinder separately and now I have learned the connection piece is no longer being sold separately so it is pretty much useless to me now. I temporarily used silicone glue to attach it but it comes off easy.

I will probably buy the lcdvf but the supply of that is touch and go.

but on a GH1, right? Of course I read the description about it being for 5ds but the mount looks very adjustable, so I started wondering.

No I use the 7d, but I it has an adaptor to fit other size screens like the gh1. I would get the lcdvf or the z-finder if you are rich.
