Anyone Use these PreAmp AGC disablers

There are some posts/reviews around if you hunt around... I think the general consensus is that a separate system recorder like the H4n is always a better solution. With the disablers, You basically lose one channel of audio to defeat the AGC...so you end up with a single usable channel of audio that you still can't truly monitor with headphones.
