Anyone use BlackMagic Intensity for 24p?

Still can't seem to uncover any information on whether/how the Intensity handles playback of 24p DVCProHD footage... anyone actually tried it?

My understanding, and I could be easily wrong, is that the Intensity will not output 24p/720 DVCProHD. Might be wrong.

I dont see anything about the intensity in those specs.. I'm sure it'll spit out 24 over 60 via HDMI to hook up to a HD Monitor

it really doesn't matter because you're just monitoring it... but it does work..

Just to confirm:

You have shot 24pN and then outputted to an HDMI monitor using the Intensity card?

And this is pixel for pixel?

I ended up going with the HD Decklink Studio instead of the Intensity because I wanted analog out in addition to HDMI. I set it up last night and got the HDMI connection to work (for 720p, 24 fps in FCP) using the 720p 59.94 Hz setting. I see that the Intensity card does support that, so I'm guessing it would work fine. You'll need to take the audio off the HDMI signal or else it will be out of sync.

I don't think there are any monitors that accept a 24frame native signal. They are for the most part 60 and 75hz native.

I'll find out more when I go to NAB...

Is the BlackMagic Decklink the right card or is it the multi-bridge that you need if I want to use my old 20" Apple monitor for just cutting (screen display) and use the Panasonic BT-LH1700WP as my true HD monitor for cc, image, etc...

Finally got our Intensity working Flawlessly with Timecode... To all those above posts: The DVCProHD codec uses 60 frames regardless of what fps you are recording..(except native mode) We capture footage shot in 24 and 30 using the Intensity and JVC BR-HD50 deck and splice the JVC footage with Panasonic p2 footage.. The JVC Deck also always spits out 60 frames regardless of what format the tape was recorded in.. The Intensity captures DVCProHD 60, so as long as you're using the 60 timebase, 24, 30, shouldn't matter... It's just duplicate frames 2:3:3:2 or 2:3:2:3.. Whatever you have it set to... As far as outputting to a monitor, the same principle applies.. The Intensity should take the 24 or 30 timelines and still spit out 60 frames via HDMI.. This is how we have ours set up... The HDV JVC footage looks much better using the HDMI out (bypassing Long GOP compression).. More color space and true digital video and audio.. Plus, I can digitize HDV using the DVCProHD codec on the FLY in realtime which makes editing HDV and p2 footage on the same timeline a breeze! As far as the Blackmagic Decklink card... I would have gone with a Kona.. The AJA card has hardware accelleration for rendering and the Blackmagic line uses Software for rendering.. They're similar in price and the Kona packs way more power... I know this post is a lot to take in and should answer any uncertainties about the Intensity...

Could you confirm this:

720/24pNative into a 720/24p FCP timeline will play out HDMI with the Intensity?

Or does it have to be 720/24p over 60 without pulldown?
