Hi

I consider buying the ninja to get better image quality (details and colours) from my hmc 151e. Has anyone had any experinces with the ninja mounted on the 150/151 yet? If so please share your thoughts and testresults.

Unless u are talking about shadow warriors I don't know what you are talking about. Can you post a link to the product?

I think the Ninja is just now shipping, so you're probably going to need to wait a few weeks for folks to get their hands on it and play with it.

Nice, finally a more affordable 10bit portable recorder and monitor!

Anyone tried it yet? Are there any noticable differences (and if so - wich?) between recordings made through the HMC 151 to the Ninja and what the HMC 151 can produce by it self.

Looks like it doesn't have an HDMI out or pass-through... that would really be a handy thing to have. I've been using a passive splitter to drive 2 screens on set with no trouble, something to test with actually recording via splitter I suppose...

The Ninja doesn't have a pass-though, but it does have a built-in monitor. Beware of HDMI splitters: some work and some don't; they're not all created equal.

To answer an earlier point: any competent pro-res HQ recorder will give a significantly better recording than an internal, long-gop codec. Of course the meaning of the word "significantly" here is subjective. You really have to try it for yourselves.

Is their anyway to make the Ninja record automatically when the hmc 150 records?

Doubt it, HDMI is feeding continuously so nothing would 'trigger' a difference from record or not.

That being said you really don't need to record on the HMC at all... unless you are wanting redundancy of course.

Ok. Would be nice with a comparetive test to see if there is any major difference In the output from Ninja compared to the avchd from the hmc it self. On the paper there should be, but In reality? I don't wanna use 1000$ on ninja and disk just to find out there is no difference In the final output that is worth the money.
For youtube and Web the hmc does a great job, but I sometimes need a bit more sharpness or less noisy picture and thought the Ninja could somehow be helpfull for achieving that In some cases? Or am I All wrong here? Is the clean HDMI output from the Hmc so much better than the "developed" output to avchd?
