Anyone still using the 35-100?

I use my 35-100 all the time. I wish I did not need to but for controlled situations it's ok. Shooting in situations where you have to ride iris a lot is completely annoying but I try to avoid using the lens in those circumstances.I have a Cooke 20-100 t 3 cines lens which is far superior to the olympus but also much heavier. Neither of these lenses. Is hand held material either. The Cooke cost me a little more than the Olympus 14-35 and the 35-100 combined but it is far superior in terms of image and user friendliness.I can't wait till there are some useful lenses for compact large sensor HD cameras that cost less than 5k a piece and have decent image quality. The Olympus lenses still fill a gap but I hope they are on their way out.

The problems with this lens concerns weight, focusing, iris and the noise this lens has when adjusting focus or iris. Optical quality is top notch but once I started to use it for video it felt to much of an old DSLR lens that fitted video shooting bad.

I use it on a tripod with focus/iris remote, sometimes with the 2x extender, for events. Great lens !

Am using the 35-100 and the 14-35 primarily for dual camera interviews. Fantastic lenses when used as variable primes - especially when dealing with less than ideal lighting. Having 14 through 100 at a constant 2.0 is pretty sweet.

I just purchased the 35-100, but the focus throw is sometimes too long. Good thing I have the focus controller which takes care of that problem. Other than that, I love it more than the 70-200 I have. Only about 3 hrs of shoot time with it so far though.

I sold my Olympus 14-35/2 today also. I think it was way better than the 35-100 and used it on many occasions but lately it has stayed in my bag and it was time for it to find a new owner. Both 14-35 and 35-100 are great lenses but not for video shooting imho.
