Anyone Interested in a DV Rack like app for MAC?

Its cool... Its not like having a rant from that other company about not supporting macs and the way everyone bugs them about it.

I don't think when I started this thread that it was an Option to Run windows on a Mac, as much as we shudder at the thought.

We all know what is available on the Dark side... ;)

Just to let everyone know, A user had successfully ran 2 copies of DV Monitor Pro on the same Mac Book and was able to have each copy see a different camera on 2 separate firewire ports. The user was also able to capture clips from both cameras to a 3.5 inch Fire wire HD that was connected as well.

At some point we might look at changing the app to allow this from 1 running copy, but for those of you that need to do multicam it is doable now.

Our local TV station has some cameras controled from about 300 Ft away over firewire and optic cable. the set up is really close to how I described before, so do not tell me it does not work because I wen to see it for my self, after all of you made me doubt it

Remember that the only operator will be Me, My self and I, just like I am doing it now with this device to control the motion "Pan, Zoom, and Tilt http://grizzlypro.com/systems.htm#rthreels But I like your product to do the other things this one canot do

To make it short, your software will do calibration and D2D Rec and the grizzly will do the motion..that way I will be almost unnoticeable with total control of at least 3 cameras

Just trying to figure it out what are the big/main differences between HD Monitor pro and ScopeBox other then the price?
I guess I am saying what make the price difference worth buying ScopeBox instead HD Monitor?

Yes, I wrote an application for the Mac that has direct to disk recording for the HVX200. Features, include a waveform monitor that overlays directly on top of the video and a vectorscope. In addition, it has high and low Zebra patterns, title safe, overscan overlays. Also, it's only $100.

One of the neatest features is real-time chroma keying. You can light a green, red, or blue screen, and then place any Quicktime movie or still image in the background. Take a look at:

It is already possible to run multiple copies of DV Monitor Pro and record from 2 cameras at the same time.

Scope Box is a different animal than our Monitor Pro Software line. Its great if you want to spend the extra time to perfect your colors or exposure. Of course you won't get the shot notes, clip management and instant FCP editing like our software line has. All of which save the user time!

We have some ideas on the drawing board that will be amazing. Although it seems Brad had the same thinking about real-time Chroma Keying, and beat us to the punch ;'P But we have plenty more good ideas to code to make them "keep up" with us.

I just don't like anybody attacking another's product or price. I'm just glad there is more than one developer on the Mac side, and perhaps all of us should encourage it, and the competition that rewards all of us rather than off handed comments such as this.

are you saying HD Monitor will not have Real-time Chroma Keying?
 
Bena is it normal that your demo trial only works once and for a few minutes? I dont mind the flying logo icons but it is hard to evaluate anything if it dont give you enough time to test it.
Im really looking forward to buy it , but i wont unless i'm sure it suits my workflow.

I was planning to use it on my mac book not pro because it is the most efficient regarding to battery time. Is it normal that i dont find it anymore useful for focusing then the hvx lcd? Maybe the video card on the macbook is not strong enough?

Btw giving the option to record as mxf or quicktime would be very usefull. That way the footage would be completely cross platform and would be the same file format as the footage shot on regular p2. It would be easyer to archive homogeneous footage.

Can veescope record in1080 24p?
Also is it normal that i get a very long lag when i record?like probably more then a second! maybe my system is not powerfull enough? I have a macbook with a 7200rpm main system drive and 2 gig of ram.
