Hey, so i just bought the M2 adapter from a member here on DVXuser. i got it for use with my HMC, and switching from a letus, its a bit different. the HMC, sits to the left a bit and i have to turn the camera to get it to hook up to the adapter. how do you guys mount it? which shims (if any) do you use to hook it up? this is really p*ssing me off!!!! any help will be appreciated and i can get pictures if necessary!

Thanks!

so after looking at the redrock site i found some info regarding the setup with the hmc/hpx.

we need a low riser block, a 1/8" rod shim and the following special note: "The HPX170 and HMC150 require that the quick release on the baseplate is moved to the right. This process
is outlined in the M2e setup tutorial at start.redrockmicro.com under the 'left/right adjustment' section."

after watching their setup videos on vimeo it appears that there are adjustment screws on the bottom of the baseplate so that you can slide the camera mount left/right.

I had the same problem with mine. I went the other way though and switched to the letus extreme. Just curious why the switch and are you using the microx?

idk why i switched, i just found someone with a good deal on a kit, so i went for it. and no, i am not using the microx. really no need for it when the HMC can automatically flip it. it takes 15 extra seconds in post to save me a ton of $$$$.

I hear you. I didnt mind the post flip either but I got a great deal on the letus and sold my redrock setup for just about what I paid for the extreme so I had to do it. Im loving the image out of this camera.

if you're on a mac and have qt pro you don't have to flip in fcp and render. you can open the qt file and flip it(under window>show movie properties. click on video track then visual settings) and then save it.
