I have premiere pro 2.0 running on a 2.8 ghz pc with 1 gig of ram.
everytime i try to render my scene that i have done in magic bullet or if i try to colour correct. Premiere keeps shutting down. Is there any who can help me?

Do yo have a purchased or a boot leg?

My purchased one gave me problems and I waited almost two weeks for a new one. My friend came over with a bootleg and it worked perfectly.

i've had issues also .. sometimes w/ magic bullet, sometimes with boris continuum complete. sometimes in order to get around it, i render out a clip and then put it back into the timeline just to avoid the annoying crashes and such (thank god for auto-save). i noticed it happens more often if the effects are stacked or if there are multiple clips with effects on top of each other. If anyone comes up with a solution, please please post something .. i'm seriously considering switching to vegas or something .. if only the learning curve wasnt so large

It's instability issues with the third party app. This happens to me while using CineForm. I don't know if it's premiere or the third party apps

Ok this is what i did, i thought there might be some junk on my computer that could be causeing a confliction with premiere, so i did a reinstall, but again same problem. This is getting anoying!
Iam gonna totaly reformat the hardrive and try again.

Ok guys i added an extra gig of ram making a total of2 gigs, still crashing.
So i turned off hyperthreading, now it takes longer to crash.
it seems to have problems when i scrub the timeline over the unrendered parts of the footage where either i have colour corrected or added magic bullet.

I remember last year when working on AMD 64 bit processor, Premiere 1.5 would boot up as normal and then just disappear. After FX ran fine but no Premiere Pro. I never had such a problem on an Intel Machine. It was very weird.

What MotherBoard are you using? I had an Abit board that would keep rebooting with Premiere, and after almost a year, I discovered that I just needed to adjust some settings in the bios menu. If I remember, I had to adjust the slew rates and the 15-16 mb memeory hole.

i have a Asus mother board. I got this error code
The instruction "0x7x018522" Referenced memory at "0xfffffffa" could not be read

any ideas guys

When I first got PP2.0 and after much reading I was having freezing issues, I read somewhere that certain Mobo Chipsets bottleneck data, I then discovered my Mobo had said chipset. I eventually swapped out my Asus A8V-mx MOBO with a new one of a different chipset, upgraded to Dual core at the same time, and poof all is well. Mine would act up anytime it had to perform any operation.

I believe I got that info off the videoguys.com sites. You might be able to find some info is you search with keywords such as. PP2.0, bottleneck, motherboard etc. I can't remember it was a year ago now.

I used to have this similar problem. I know mine happened because I had the 2 of each of the magic bullet plug ins. You might want to check your directory for that

change video card, re-install premiere, check power supply and increase your box to a higher wattage if need be.

Make sure your video card is installed first, then Premiere, they clash if done in the wrong order. Id say re-install both of them.

I suffered through months and months of crashes, same ****, couldn't do anything, go to render..crash, scrub....crash...etc. you get the picture. Good luck, pc's suck your best bet is to switch over to mac as soon as you can, i know i will.

ps. if you want a lot of info on this search my name for my threads, I have 2 or 3 with some pretty helpful information. Let me know how it goes, I feel for you man.

could also try deleting the .ini files, then re-booting. there preference files. if you reboot with them deleted PP2 will just make new ones, but it won't have any of yor prefferences any more.

also have you tryed going to "Control pannle - Administrative tools - Event Viewer". try looking here to see what errors your pc has been suffering from, you can usualy get some usefull info from microsoft about what is up. they usualy give you error codes and other gumphf, but then they will have an explination, which is usualy very complicated with other error codes referenced.

what i'm trying to say is that if you get all of this info, and keep hunting down the problem, you will eventually......eventually be able to work out why it is going wrong. then you can begin to fix it, which may or may not involve buying new hardware.

I often find that certain overclocking forums can give loads of help when i comes down to hardware problems. they won't know anything aplication based, but they will know which motherboards are most likely to create bottle necks.

hope this helps.
