Anyone bought a J&R GF1 in the last week or so with the correct hackable firmware?

Just considering adding a GF1 to my GH1 collection. Has anyone bought a pre-1.24 GF1 from J&R (Amazon) recently? I had good luck a couple of weeks ago with my second J&R GH1 but don't want an unhackable GF1.

I am new to the forum.
I got one from J&R yesterday when there is a $999 deal special. Firmware 1.34 :( I guess I got one of the returns because the deal is now dead.

What should do I do now, live with it or return it?

Was that a GF1? I'm looking for a smaller body than the GH1 to take to some like concerts like U2 360 in December. I think the GH1 might be too pro-looking for security.
 
no, a gh1.
if you want smaller, try the G2. although i'm not sure it's actually smaller.
i think the gh1 is the least pro looking of all the dslrs....doesn't get much smaller than that, except for the sony nex line.
 
having the same problems.. I've been looking around Ebay. Just contacted thisisde1, the ebay dealer who just had a hackable GH1 blowout, about his GF1s i'll get back to you if they are hackable.

I also bought one from J&R and promptly returned it-firmware 1.34 all the way ;(

You should check the used cameras from J&R and B&H, not only is there a greater chance they will have the old firmware but you can actually check which version it is before you buy.

This is what I did, found one with an older firmware (and in perfect condition) and I'm now a happy camper (well except it's black and not the red color I originally wanted but hey, you can't have everything) ;)

My GH1 was too pro looking for security at Outside Lands and I HAD A PHOTOGRAPHY PASS. Kept getting yelled at and kept having to hold up my pass, that was with the kit lens. GF1 with 20mm should be alright...maybe.
 
I lucked out and bought one from www.vanns.com last week, serial number WE9L****. Full kit incl. 14-140 lens @ $1149. They had another 8 or 9 left and although they could not confirm the serial numbers, told me they were delivered in June - therefore obviously manufactured before. Also obtained a red one from Japan via Ebay.
 
I bought a new GF1 + 20mm kit from cameraland on ebay for $649 after mail-in rebate. Firmware version 1.1 That means hackable right?
 
Just received my GH1 ordered from dell on 09/13 with serial WE9LC which indicates it is from December 2009 so it should be hackable. They are still showing in stock, for those looking to buy a new one. They even lowered the price a few hours after I ordered mine.
