Anybody using a PC have any problems offloading?

Hi. In another thread I have been exploring the proplems that have cropped up using Mac as a platform for pulling off data off cards or p2 stores. I believe that is the majority of HVX users (but I don't know.) Those of you using PCs, have you had any problems? What were they? What is your workflow (PC p2 genie, straight copying, etc)
Also if you have NOT had any problems and have shot quite a bit of footage (I know at least one guy who has shot 5TB of footage using PC in workflow with no problems) please let us know.
Thanks!

I'm a relative newcomer (had my HVX200 for about a month), and haven't had any real problem yet.

I use a laptop with a PCMCIA/PCCard slot to mount my 8GB P2 cards. Originally I simply copied the card contents using Windows Explorer, but then I got lazy and bought P2 Genie. Once I started using P2 Genie, I ran into a problem where it displays a "Verification failed" dialog, but the clips are still usable.

There is no explanation in the documentation for what might have caused the failure, the two buttons in the dialog (OK and CANCEL) don't make any sense the way the message is phrased, and I haven't heard anything back since reporting the problem.

I have never had any kind of issue whatsoever. 99% of the time I just put the card in the PC laptop and copy the files over using Windows Explorer. Then use EDIUS' P2 Select tool to import the files straight into the bin, or use Raylight to convert the files to something Vegas can see.

I don't know how many terabytes of footage I've done this way, no problems ever. Not a single corrupted frame, not a lost clip, not a problem at all.

I have off load hundreds of gigs at home and at work but mostly through the cam hooked up USB to the computer and transfer the files to an external HD and have had not a single problem! I have been happy with the work flow. We back up using DVDs at work since we are only shooting :30sec commercials and prolly only shoot 10-20min of DVCPro50 footage at a time depending on the commercial.

Thanks,
John G.

Sorry - I've been on vacation since july 21 (still am actually) and therefore haven't been able to answer your bug report yet. I'll look into the problem as soon as possible. The verification counts the number of files and checks the file-sizes, but I think that the reason for the verification error might be because you're using the single-folder feature.

I'll get back to you regarding this problem.

Thanks. Enjoy your vacation, and don't worry about this issue -- as I said, the clips are usable, but the false error message is annoying. Naturally I was extremely concerned about erasing the P2 card when it first happened.
