Any Update on the Convergent Design Sunscreen Hood for the Odyssey

So you pay costums duty for importing them and then, your distributor has to pay the next batch, if you ship overseas?


Geee, that's a kind of globalization. I guess, molded plastic will not balance out government deficit spendings.

It's not even that as much as they randomly (I think, there may be a method to the madness) stop a shipment of something to inspect what it really is and if any duties paid are what they should be. Most stuff passes through on the honor system but they have to check some to keep shippers in line.
 
I was thinking about wrapping something around your sunscreen for times when you need 4 sided protection. Any thoughts on a material to do that?
 
Yeah I did think about that but discounted it. - doesn't look very professional ;)

was as wondering about getting some neoprene.
 
Or black foam board cut to size and glued up. Not sure how strong that would be on the joints. Better would be a collapsible arrangement I think.
 
I would suggest a four-sided box with gaffer tape corners. Cut it so it just barely squeezes over out hood on the top & sides. Some layers of tape internally will keep out stray light and allow enough friction to hold it reasonably in place. Make the gaff tape corners loose so that the whole thing can fold down flat for storage.
 
I am waiting for the next availability update on the sunshade. I envision it going something like this: "The sunshades that were held up in customs were finally released today. However, the vehicle that was transporting the shipment to our warehouse was hijacked by Ukrainian Rebels, so we are awaiting a new shipment to leave the factory in a couple weeks. But the really good news is that this next batch is even better than the last 5 batches that we did not send you."

Ha, ha.

I'm travelling and conducting some seminars so have not had a chance to check on this. I'll look into it tomorrow and report back.
 
Just got an update. First shipment arrived and are going through QC and packaging. Goes into inventory and ships out in a couple days.
 
Thanks for the update Mitch - a bit later than expected re shipping. Hopefully will get to the International dist in a week or so???
