Any tips or guides for beginners?

I've decided to get into DSLR video now after having done photography for quite a while. Are the any tips or guides that are worth reading for someone like me? Anything in relation to post-processing to the actual filming part.

I have absolutely no idea at all about filming but am interested in learning.
 
Hey man,
I have a t3i and mostly shoot with a 50mm 1.8. What has helped me the most is finding pictures or scenes that I want to mimic and then just sitting down and working at it until I get it. Google is amazing for this. I also bought some shop lights. Having some control over your lighting opens up many options. Master the basics like the rules of thirds, three point lighting, and keeping your plane going the right direction. Videomaker.com has a lot of good info on this kind of basic stuff. People on the forum are helpful too.

Yeah, it's great read for HDSLR beginners. When I got hold of it I knew quite a bit already, but it helped fill in the gaps.
