Any tips on how I could restore this?

So I bought some SRW1/SRPC1 parts for my working SRW... Got the boards so i can speed ramp 1-60fps 4:4:4 RGB now which is awesome. The units were old SRWs from Panavision... i scraped the parts i knew i could use down the line should something go wrong... interested in seeing if any of you knew how i could restore the Panavision logo on the face? They etched it out of the metal, that is not white paint lol

I don’t know how to fix the logo, but can see if mine is has more of the face left on it. That is quite the ectch out.

that is friggin' hilarious! Used to have a machinist at Panavision WH I could hit up for you but he's moved on.

Do you have a picture of what it looked like? Was it part of the casting or a label?

edit - I have a picture of it now, but I can't figure out if the white logo is painted on or was machined into the part and then filled with paint. It looks like paint on the surface. I can restore the surface back to smooth for you, no charge (I'd resurface it so the downside is it won't be quite as thick as it was). Just cover postage. Any silkscreening shop should be able to silkscreen the logo on for you if you can generate the artwork. Of course, you need to find the original color paint as well. If the logo is machined into the part, then that's a problem.

I also got the IF Box that went with the genesis and it doesnt seem to interface with an F23, but still cool none the less.

Never knew genesis needed IF box. Thought all was somehow through the recorder. Never saw it on a genesis. Can you please post photos?

Yes but for whatever reason, it does not get power to it when on my F23. Im wondering if its because its missing that second port that the 23's box has at the bottom? Maybe the genesis routed power differently to its IF BOX, who knows. i opened it up and all the boards and cables seem to be intact and fine, so it should work... if only I had a genesis body. The mode and detail switches are interesting.

the bottom port is for power input so I doubt this has anything to do with it. I have Sony IF box with only top port also, never seen another like it. It also came in a different case.

There is menu which shows what is connected to the docks, have you checked that menu if camera sees anything when plugged in.

It could be related to the sound board not being in your Panavision box, if the Sony IF box doesn't have the sound board plugged in, the IF box will not show up. Maybe the Genesis didn't need this check.

Also I have had 2 IF box's boards die randomly, it could possibly just not be working. You should open it and see how different the circuit board looks from the Sony. There is a video somewhere on the internet which shows Genesis cameras being assembled and I was surprised to see Panavision made completely different boards than the Sony ones. The Genesis is not the same as F35 with just a different case.

No the F23 does not see the Panny IF Box in that menu. Im almost positive it still can work, i'm thinking the F23 is just not built to power it up correctly.

Do you know any pics showing it on a genesis? I couldn't find.
