Any suggestions on Battery Systems?

I'm going back and forth on using v-mount batteries verses the Anton Bauer batteries. I plan to shoot using a DVRigPro most of the time or on a Steadicam Flyer (which I'm in the process of upgrading to). I want to be able to power both the camera, as well as a marshall montior. I have seen the QR-DVX Pouch-Style Gold-Mount to power the camera with Anton Bauer batteries. But I have seen nothing for the v-mount. Any suggestions would be helpful.

So far the Anton Bauer seems to be winning out because I know a Steadicam Flyer I could buy for a decent price that already has the Anton Bauer mount and the Gold-Mount would be easy to put on the DVrigpro. But then again the Marshall is already setup to accept its own v-mount batteries. Decisions decisions . . .

I own a Flyer and use the IDX (Sony) style v-mounts to power the monitor. I also occasionally power my Panasonic LH1700W monitor with them. If the Flyer you are going to get is already setup with the AB system you should probably stick with them. You can save money (as I did) buy either style here: http://batteries4broadcast.com/

Good luck.

Thanks for the tip and the link! I just wasnt sure if one was better than the other. And it would be easy to then get that Gold Mount adapter and have everything running AB. But it seems like most people, yourself included, like the v-mounts. Can you tell me why?

Wow. That batteries4broadcast site is great. Seems like a great deal. Are you using these batteries? Do they work just as well as the IDX or are the run times a bit slower than the numbers would indicate? I was about to get an IDX package, but this place can save me a ton of cash.

PAG is great too, but they are UK based and VERY rare in the USA. So keep that in mind.

V-mount appears to be the most comon, and it's also marginally cheaper than AB a lot of times.

In fact you might find that it would be cheaper to get a $99 V-mount plate for your Flyer and go v-mount, than to get AB for everything else, esp as you have that v-mount monitor too.

Price out how much the total would be in both, and keep in mind the cost of replacement batteries too, and see what works best.
