Just recently got my DVX100B and wanted to know what scene files you gys were using and if who was shooting 24p,24pAVD,30p or 60i? i shot 24p but it seemed to lag? weird.. so post whatcha working with(settings that is) doesnt have to be just skating could be any action sports!!!

its probably just lagging to you because you are not used to 24 frames compared to 30 a second. i like shooting bmx at 60i, its real smooth and you can slow it down in after effects pretty nicely. 24 looks cool too but i guess you just have to get used to it.

I just shot a skate video (montage) at 24p and it seemed ok
I'm going to try 30p next seeing as how the auto focus i much better in 30p Vs 24p
I'll let you know how that goes

I usually shoot in 60i, for the same reasons steven does. I want to film a montage for my upcoming video in 24p though.

i was thinking about 30p for fisheye and 24p for long lens but im not sure.. i know 60i is easy so i wont have to worry about the strobbing. but can anyone answer if i use 24p,30p,andddd 60i can i still edit on the same timeline if it was 29.97?

60i will give you the average skateboard video look.

I usually shoot all my artsy crap in 30p and the rest in 60i.

If you plan to do this, don't shoot 24pA.

why cant i shoot 24pA?? also if i shoot 30p can anyone suggest a good shutter speed for me to use?? i want something that wont give me any motion blur if i want to slow it down in post.

positive.. im used to shooting with a sony vx 2100 so im not used to switching frame rates..just shooting 60i video.. but i have shot with the ArriFlex SR3 and 416 $85,00,000 16mm film cameras.. so i think ill be alright.

Throw the shutter in 120 and you'll be fine. As for 24pa: it gets a little more advanced because the pull down factor and stuff. There are already a ton of articles on the subject, so I won't get into it here.
