GH5 Any reason why screens look blurry compared to my hand at the same close distance?

I was doing a test about the best distance for my 5 inch lcd screen on a shoulder rig and noticed that I struggle to focus on the screen if it is about 25 cms or less. I then placed my hand on the same position and had no issues focusing on my hand?

I also notice differences when comparing day versus night.

Is this common and anyone know why?

Hi Bassman,

I am talking about my eyes :)

When I look at the 5 inch screen from 25 cms away on my shoulder rig, I struggle to focus on it, but when I place my hand where the screen is, my eyes focuses on my hand fine. It made me think, this is why people use viewfinders as it has the focus adjustment eye piece to adjust for close focusing. I am just confused as to why, I am fine focusing on my hand but not the screen at 25cms??

Old or Young? :) I do not have an answer unless you are not realizing your hand is just as OOF but it has less detail to show it?

???? I thought you were seeing things (maybe we both are). I tried the same thing and get the same results. At about 12" I'm ok, but as you said, bring it in to about 25cm and the hand is clear but the screen is not. Weird. Is it an illusion?

I wear bifocals. I tried it in low, warm, CFL light.

Good hypothesis. But in my instance, I had my hand next to the screen, so the pupils are at the same dilation for both. Even if they adjusted, they would have closed down for the screen because it was brighter.
