Any online video sites display in 60p or 29.7i?

Are there any online vide sites out there that will correctly display 60p? MEnaing actually show 60 frames of video per second for that 'LIVE' look?

Also.. are there any sites that will display 29.97 720 x 480 video as it really looks? 60 fields of motion per second again for that 'video' look.

It seems all site scale it down to 30p from that sort of source footage.

Anyone? No one?

Is this a no go?

I made some nice copies of 59i DV videos but they need that video live look.. no way to make em stream on a site?

I'd try and emailing their customer service or equivalent email account. Would probably be much faster than waiting on a forum.

It's not a customer service question. The GH1 can film 60p... when you upload those files to youtube or vimeo they are always changed down to 30p or 25 or 24p. I am wondering if there is any site that will stream at 60p for that 'live' video look.

I swore I watched some raw clip from that 1080/60p panasonic camera that definatly wasnt playing at 24p. Maybe I was imagining things? Ill see if I can find it.

It's 30, nobody plays video files at 60p or 60i on the internet.

Maybe 30p is looking like 60p to me, here is a link. Does this seem like its playing at 60p?

Yup. You are going crazy in your young old age. That is 30p.

And come now don't say NOBODY plays 60p files on the internet. It is not true. I have seen a few webcasts at 60p. They did an obama news conference and streamed it at 60.. and i can easily setup a streamable 60p flash or other codec from my blackout.com webserver. What I am asking is if any other file hosting site supports it.

The look is unmistakable when played next to 30p... 60p looks live - as in happening now, motion similar to normal waking life motion. I don't like it for any narrative stuff but for documentary / news style stuff I like it.. most people have forgotten what it looks like from only watching youtube on their computers.

Post a link that proves the Obama or any other webcast was at 60p. Nobody does 60p on the internet otherwise it would be big news and easy to find doing a Google search.

At least Vimeo allows you to download the 60p video file and watch it, so that's the first step.

You can stream 60p with winmedia... I can put any winmedia file encoded at 6op up on my website with a link that tells it to stream while it dls to you rather than dling the whole file and playing it.. there really isn't a big difference. The big sites don't support it for bandwidth reasons but I have seen it done and I could put a file up for you in 60p. This is not world news or technically difficult.. only there are no 'hosting' sites that I can find doing it.

if streaming live in various encoders you can set it to 60p... but you must be using your own server and bandwidth.

Which gets back your original question "Are there any online video sites out there that will correctly display 60p?" and I still say no there isn't.

Yes there don't appear to be any currently. I found a debate about youtube possibly supporting it in the near future but they don't.

This is very different from saying 'no one does it' because it has been done plenty of times but on private sites, so it is possible.

That's not streaming video and far from it, that's me having to download a video file from your website first to my hard drive and then it playing back in an embedded QuickTime player in my browser which you can't resize.

Vimeo already does by providing a download of the original file that plus you can use your own player which I prefer more.

And let's face it, that was not even a Progressive Download which would be a least a pseudo streaming video which Vimeo also does.

That is encoded as http streaming. I didn't write a header file for it so obviously you have your system set to something weird for mp4 if it's opening quicktime.

I just tested it in ie8... clicked it and it started playing within a second. it didn't dl the whole thing unless your bandwidth is low it might do that then if it keeps buffering.
