Any online video sites display in 60p or 29.7i?

It doesn't matter how it's encoded if you don't have a true streaming server.

Your computer has tricked you since the video file is already buffered to your hard drive from downloading it once before. Now when you click on the link it will start playing instantly. Delete that temporary internet file from your hard drive and it will have to download the entire file again before it starts playing.

I have plenty of bandwidth here also and your file doesn't buffer before playing.

Wow your website is slow, it took 2 minutes to download that 6MB video file from it. This screen grab shows the download at 49% complete with a speed of only 46.0KB/Sec. What's clogging up your website? I tried it a couple more times and it was just as slow.

My computer didn't trick me because I went to another computer to test it that had never played the file. However.. you are right... I am having some bandwidth issues on my server right now and I'm not sure what's causing it. I run several shoutcast server radio stations so when the listener count gets very high it may be hogging the bandwidth. Thanks for pointing it out I'll look into it.

Well, you need to look further into the streaming thing (or progressive download since you really aren't streaming) then because every other video that is properly setup for streaming/progressive download does so on my computer from numerous websites. Vimeo uses progressive download and I certainly have no problem with those videos starting to play before they are completely buffered to my hard drive.

You keep saying vimeo vimeo vimeo but vimeo is not even an issue here it does not do 60p, which is what I am looking for. It also annoys me be downrezzing your original 1920 x 1080 files to 1280 x 720 unless you pay them not to. I use vimeo for 24p stuff although I have dropped it because youtube's 1080p codec now smashes vimeo in the face.

60p

60p

Blackout, I do not know of any online video providers who run in 60p, yet.

However, if you have access to a means of storage and the bandwidth you can setup your own 60p videos and embed it to most sites.

I upload all my videos in 60p (h.264 in an FLV container) to my personal web site. I down convert them from 1080/60p to 768x432/60p and play them using JW Player, which is free. I embed them to my wife's personal website which is password protected. So we can share all our videos with our family and friends in 60p! Cool stuff. JW player uses Flash. So as long as the user has a browser and Flash, it plays.

So it looks and feels just like a Youtube embedded clip, but is streamed in 60p. It looks great.

At some point Youtube will stream at 60p. It's just a matter of time.

I would post a video example for all to see, but I'm a bit nervous about traffic and flooding issues. If you want to host the file, I can help you set up an example with that 60p-streaming.mp4 file you had. It's best converted to an flv container or at least having the file header information appended to the font of the file so it will stream within Flash/JW even in an mp4 container.

I figured it was a matter of time. 60p is good for the live news look sometimes or video games and it doesn't really take up that much more bandwidth because it only goes at 720p.
