Any news of 6K camera announcements?

I was about to jump on the RED Scarlet Dragon and then I saw that it only shoots 6k 12fps, how do you shoot with 12fps?

Is there any announcements of 6K cameras yet? I am hoping Sony will have something here soon since most of my cameras are now Sony.

Thanks guys

RED's always done that...the highest resolution for some models is only available at 12fps.

But the 6K Weapon shoots full format 75fps. The 8K models of course are options too.

Kinefinity TERRA 6K (back-ordered) or KineMAX 6K (if they still sell it) are the only other options I can think of.

Maybe I am missing something else.

I'm predicting Blackmagic is due for an 8K camera soon.

Thanks for the reply. I have a friend in China that I just emailed to check out the place there in China. Hopefully he can get me one. 3-4 weeks backorder isn't bad at all really.

You can order the cameras from the United States too. I used to own a Kinemini 4K I bought from China right from the website.

This place in the US might have models you could check out if you're ever in California. (That's public information from the Kinefinity website.)

Venice is billed as a 6K camera but it won't be 6K until the next summer or thereabouts.

And it won't be an inexpensive tool either.

Panasonic's EVA1 should be shipping within a week, and it's 5.7k. Not exactly 6k, but very close.

It will record 4k at shipping, and 5.7k raw output will be enabled in a subsequent firmware update.

5.7k would be awesome but are we talking about 5.7k at 12fps? Hehe

The DJI Zenmuse X7 will also shoot 6K, but it's a specialty camera.

I think the GH5 guys/gals are shooting some kind of 6K too...haven't really followed it though.

Faux "6K" ( (4,992 x 3,774 pixels = ~ 18.4 MPX) anamorphic from a 4:3 sensor.

A question remains about line skipping to get those 18.4 MPX read at once. There's some moire on a 16:9 full sensor readout.

Everything you ever wanted will be enabled with a firmware update.

I'm still waiting for version 1.45 of my wife though.
She suddenly goes blank occasionally and has a distant look in her eye.
I wish they had fixed this in the factory from the beginning.
She keep telling me that it's operator error though.

Any suggestions ?

Firmwares and upgrades will only keep them relevant for a short period of time, eventually you need to upgrade to a newer model. Though, some people still lug around their 35mm cameras...

Where did you pick up your VK machine? Mine broke back in the early 90s and I haven't been able to find any replacement parts.
