Hello,
I've been lurking around here quite regularly, every day actually (Jim, thanks for making me a web junky!). I'm not the only one right? There are always more people viewing this thread than any other thread on DVXuser! I've only seldom posted. I see many people guessing and debating about this or that. A lot of useful info also, thanks Jarred for all you input, and all you posters. I must say I'm blown away about how fast this thing, hum.. the ultimate camera, is developping. Red team, thank you! (Mr Jannard, that was a joke, I was already a web junky, that's how I found out about your exceptional project). It was a pleasure to meet the team at IBC. Remember me, somehow I kept ending back at Red booth, just couldn't stay away. I got reservation No 500! Anyhow, thanks for your hard work, unbelievable about the break in, but actually it is believable. Some people have to be shaking in their pants.
To get to the point, I haven't heard any news about the EVF in a long time. Last I remember, there was a mention of 720 lines of resolution and some people were guesstimating the price to be $3000.-
First, I'm wondering about availability, then pricing. Will it be at the same time as the body, or how long after? While I'm at it, I wonder how fast these babies will be made, 100 a month? At spot number 500, if you reach your expected release date, that puts me at... septembe?
Back to the EVF, I'm in no ways an expert, but I hear 720 lines is good and that $3000.- would be a good deal. To me that's expensive, but as I said I'm no expert and if that's what it takes, so be it. I would think however, many will put off buying it for a while, but if it lives up to expectations, which I'm sure it will (I am a believer after all), most will end up buying. An EVF is very usefull and essential for many. I'm a hand held (shoulder) kind of guy, an EVF is an absolut necessity. So if we could get a little insight, it would be wonderful.
With my regards,
from the other side of the pond,
Damien
