Any new Lens coming this year from panasonic or olympus?

Panasonic removed the Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f/4 lens (H-F007014) from its U.S. website. I interpret this as a prep for a replacement lens as this creates a void in the ultra-wide range.

I wouldn't read too much into Panasonic's web design. The 7-14mm is a sweet little lens, & I hope Panasonic is spending it's time working on other glass. As others have stated, it does not need IS. However a Filter Holder/Slot ...

FYI the m4/3 7-14 is (back?) on both Panasonic's USA, & Global, sites.

I actually have a Canon HD lens for 2/3", but don't want to spring 7 grand for the Abel adapter and lose two stops... And the lenses that cover 35 are way too heavy and unwieldy for documentary work.

you don't have to - MTF Services does a 2/3 to MFT adaptor for £350 - only downside is you have to have the doubler engaged to avoid vignetting. Let me jnow if you no longer use that Cooke, I'll take it off you hands for a fair price!

Olympus is set to announce at least two M43 primes by the end of June. Rumors are pointing at a 12mm f/2.0 and 45mm f/1.8. The latter is expected to cost around $300.

i use a canon 2/3 lens often and you can get very heavy color fringing as well. abel adapter is supposed to address this. havent used it.

These are very decent lenses regardless of price. However, I would get the Nikon/Canon mount equivalents so you can use them on more cameras.

Where have you seen a press release from Olympus actually announcing these products? I've searched on the PMAI and on Olympus' site and see no reference to either of these.

This is leaked pre-release info. The rumored Olympus announcement date is set for next week on June 30, 2011.
