Any m2t sample footage in CF25? (Or any other CF25 low compression footage)

Lol.
Well i have to say that now that i have a real HD monitor, HDV footage sucks when there is too much moving in the screen! ;D
The same problem than is some old mpeg2 DVDs, when you have a close up of someone´s face, things become strange. It the shot is no so close, It looks perfect.
At least, once deinterlaced and at 720p, it looks reasonably good.

Now, the truth is that the FX1E is an astoundising good camera for SD work if used properly. To me, it gives me all the color sampling that i always wanted, the same progresive mode as the dvx100e, a big LCD screen, a very good lense, and even a lower price than what the DVX100e cost me two years ago.

And it is HD, so i can charge clients more money for the same work. ;D

The HVX should be great, but the footage that i have seen still looks like it has some kind of noise reduction algorithm and strange colors, so maybe the XL H1 is a better camera for the kind of things i like to do.

Hi,

What do you think about CF25 with HDV res?

Fernando

I think that for real 1080p, these small cameras are still too far away to give decent quality. You need the big HD cameras to get good results.

With 1/3" HDV cameras i see grain/noise, pixelization, high compression, poor latitude... For me it is not enough for going to 35mm.

Maybe the new generation (XL H1, HD100, HVX200) is the first 1/3" to allow DECENT 35mm transfer.

Ok. I made a "small" video at the finest quality that internet is allowing.
So here it is a wmv 720p from a Sony FX1 HDV deinterlaced video.

It is not bad, considering that the source was a 960x1080 interlaced image, then converted to 1440x1080, then deinterlaced to 1440x540 and then resized to 1280x720. Lol

have you ever used the fx1 for green screen or blue screen work, say a person, medium shot, up to the waist or full body, where you able to get a decent key?

We are considering to purchase another camera these coming days. Your comment on the fx1 is highly appreciated.

Videos you posted made us look at the fx1 again seriuosly.

Thanks

Ted

Hi Macgregor,

I´m starting now to explore DV world. Can you explaine me, why you do all this conversions?

Wich results you get when do a deinterlaced? a progressive image?

Many Thanks/Gracias

Fernando.

Hey man. it seems we cannot get in contact, when you are in i am out. Lets try to talk tonight.
Bye!

Note: yeeesss we are all bored with this girl. I have many others, but i dont have permission to show them. Copyrighted material...

Great footage! Incredible image and great CC! Thanks again, macgregor.

I gotta have a job like yours, man!

Vou começar a fazer planos!

Beleza!

Sorry guys for the foreign language chat. Couldn´t help it!

Macgregor, did you use the G35 on this footage? I know there is n DOF, but whenever you shoot with the Fx1+G35, the footage seems to have way more latitude (even when there is no visible dof). Can you give us a little inside on your CC?

Sorry guys but the portuguese is the our beloved native language!

Macgregor, rawfa remembered to ask something I was about to ask you too: what CC did you do?
