Finally got my MC 5.5 loaded up into the Mac Pro. Any good educational material to help smoothen up the transition for a Final Cut Pro user ?

Thanks again guys.

I'm in that boat right now. Coming from FCP I'm having some headaches with MC. Things you can do easily in FCP (i.e. closing track gaps) take two or three steps in MC. The one feature that I do fine impressive with MC is the trim tool -- it is far better than FCP's... But I digress. A book that I found useful to learn Avid is "Avid Editing" by Kauffmann. There is also a Media Composer 5 book that is put out by Avid. The author's name escapes me.

Good luck.

I'd check out the Avid MC tutorials at Lynda.com. I believe there's even one for people switching from FCP.

I can also recommend the book "Avid Agility" to help increase speed once you've made the move to Avid.

Look up Kyra Coffie's Avid Assistant Editor's Handbook. She has been an Avid editor for over 10 years and provides Avid tips in all her tweets.
