Any Fellow Cigar Enthusiasts Out There?

seriously, nothing is more relaxing then smoking a cigar. a few nights ago 2 of my friends and i bought some cigars, stood outside in 30 degree weather with wine and cigars in hand, and had an amazing moment while we froze there. something about it, i dunno.

That's not cigar smoking, thats building a fire for warmth.

Go inside.

I rarely smoke them cause I'm just plain cheap, but I do like them. Have mostly smoked Avo but it's been a while, maybe too long. I currently have a few decent ones I believe. Romeo Y Julieta Clemenceaus (Domincan), Romeo Y Julieta Churchill (Havana), Partagas (Habana), (2)Dunhill Montecruz La Romana (?), and a Punch JG (?).

An old Cigar Aficionado mag I have somewhere had a story about JFK had his press sec buy about 1200 H. Upmann Petit Coronas, then the next day signed the embargo.

i think as americans the cigar grounds us with nature and our fellow human beings like passing the pipe and blowing the smoke to the four corners of the earth honoring our great mother and father as we share with our brothers and sisters the honor of lighting up this fine plant that was carefully planted and harvested, dried, separated, rolled by hand.hmmmm..mighty fine smoke

...and a boom shaka laka.

Is it just me or can you usually tell if someone is smoking a cigar if you can smell something in the air that is reminisent of burning sewage from a third-world country?

Maybe I'm just sensitive like that.

While you guys are talking about tabaccer.. anyone smoke shisha?

I have enjoyed a cigar in my day but considering I'm 7 months out from quitting a 21 year old pack a day smoking habit............................

Probably not anytime in my near future.

i quit 7 weeks ago and theres no turning back... im seriously addicted to gum (regular, wrigley gums) just as much now though. its an oral fixation thing.

Man I've never checked out the off topic stuff. Who would have ever thought I'd found a thread on Cigars. thanks Callaghan.

My first cigar ever was a Cohiba in Canada during film school in the early ninties right before the boom, so I've been trudging along for a while.

I like the Opus, but there a bit full-bodied for me. My humidor will usaually have Torano, La Gloria Cubana... on the cheap side and a cigar from the Bahamas called Graycliff for the not so cheap side. The Graycliff has a restaurant and a room called the Humidor Room. You can eat great steak and wander in on cigars being handmade in the next room. In big parties they bring the cigars around on a silver platter. Pretty cool. Nice smoke.

And a bit stronger than I normally like, but one of my favorites is the Hemingway Shortstory. Great with a portwood glass of scotch. :)

reading all this talk of cigars just make me wanna drink coffee. A friend of mine who smokes cigars once compared the two in terms of flavor. I love coffee.

Graycliff...
Good stuff.
The master blender who created the Cuban Cohiba (back in the mid-to-late sixties) defected a few years back, and began making these babies exclusively for the Graycliff Hotel in Nassau.

I'm still partial to the original red label, though the Crystal series is very nice.

Of course for that price, I more often than not go for a high-end Fuente.
