Any fast wide angle zoom for m4/3 (with OIS)?

The Leicasonic 14-50mm f2.8-3.5 is currently the fastest m43-compatible zoom with OIS. While its focusing behavior isn't the best, it sports a manual aperture ring and its image quality and handheld stability are superb.

YOu'd need a 4/3 adapter though and i believe autofocus isn't supported IIRC. Has issues with screws getting loose/construction quality. Anyword if that 12-50mm 2.8 is coming? True?

The Leicasonic's autofocus is supported on the GH2 and G2, but not on the GH1 and GF1. No loose screws that I've seen, and its build quality is noticeably sturdier than the Lumix Micro 4/3 zooms. But of course, there are always more enticing rumors to consider...

Thanks for the suggestion on the Leicasonic lpowell. Looks like the OIS does a good job judging from your video.

How's the focus ring feel? And the zoom?

The Leicasonic's focus ring is very narrow and has no tactile feedback, but it works fine once you get used to it. The zoom ring is nice and wide and works smoothly with less than an inch of barrel extension. But like all Panasonic and Olympus zooms, focus changes somewhat as you zoom, and the framing changes as you focus (lens "breathing"). For video use, it's best to frame and focus your shot before you hit the record button, lock down your aperture, and change nothing while filming.

Just got in the mail

Tamron 4-12mm 1.4

True not what you originally meant, it's a C Mount and inspired purchase by Seb Farges. I'll put up some video soon. 90 bucks... though I may put mine on ebay to get the Pentax 6mm 1.2
