Anton Bauer or IDX Batteries w/ EX1

Has anyone used any non-Sony batteries to power the EX1 yet? From what I've understood you can only use the new Sony batteries with this camera.
 
Never tried it, but I think you can use pretty much any 12V source through the DC input on the back of the camera.
 
Amperage is determined by the load (the camera) not the battery (except as it is proportional to the battery voltage - Ohm's Law) So as long as your battery is the right voltage, amps are not an issue. For power supplies, you want to make sure they can supply enough amperage without a significant voltage drop.

Hey - try it at your own risk, but I see no reason why it wouldn't, as long as you voltage is correct.
