Another tape changing question

I know I know, its been brought up so many times...

I have a bit of a problem: I was using the high grade panny AMQ tapes, but now I am all out and need some by tomorrow morning. However, none of the places tha carry MiniDV tapes here carry panny brand tapes. Its all sony, TDK or fujifilm (and i wont use fijifilm or TDK. too many bad experiences). Should I just black/colorbar over a used panny tape? or should I switch to something thats more readily available (Sony) after runing a head cleaner through my cam?

Thanks,
Dory

I, personally, would just reuse one of your Panny tapes rather than messing with head cleanings and mixed tape lubes.

I don't think you have to do that when shooting digitally, but maybe someone will chime in here and correct me on that.

If they have been recorded over before then that it the same as running color bars over them. Just add enough pre roll/post roll and rewind if you really want to make sure you don't drop timecode for the day.
