Another HD/DVX question!

Hi again! Thanks for all the great info on the last posting I did on HD and the DVX. But here's another issue Im facing regarding the HD issue. I did a music video for a friend a couple of months ago, for free. Well, a rep from MTV contacted her and wants to air the video, when she filled out all the paper work it said the video has to ONLY be in HD and told her they wont take Standard Def! Would uprezzing with the Red Giant Software be considered passable for cable television? or are we just SOL! Thanks again!

haha that's funny. if they want HD just export the footage out as 720 or something. you don't need the Red Giant software.
I'm sure After Effects can do that and it looks pretty good.

Instant HD and Neat Video (noise reduction) MIGHT improve the look when you output to a higher rez. They are good tools but not automatic winners. And they cost.
I have seen some clips that were simply output at the higher rez and they looked really good.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to try all those solutions and just export it again and then just give it to her and tell her its in HD. I don't have anything to lose and maybe just maybe they wont notice the difference. crossing my fingers

How do you think those films filmed with Panavision,ARRIFLEX are transferred to HD?? Those "film" cameras don't film in HD do they?. lol Like ryvac said.. it's all in the output.

anything greater then 480 lines of resolution is considered HD.
so no matter how bad the footage looks, if it's more then 480 lines that's HD.
which means as long as you export the footage out as 480 or more you are good to go.

I really don't know why they are saying they only accept HD....
