Another great Old Spice ad.

I just went to youtube (hand typed into the address bar, generic address) to do my browsing thang that I do, and here's what I got...
I wonder if it's those 'google cookies'? Anyways, I got a chuckle out of it. Thought maybe you might too.

//Nope: It wasn't google cookies then. I cleared my browser cookies and retyped youtube and here's what I got...:)

The thing that gets me at the end is he's wearing jeans. I can justify everything else away, but I can't wrap my brain around that.

I just noticed he went from wearing Shorts to jeans! How in the hell did they pull that one off. The guys who direct these commercials are very very good.

When I went to see inception last, first look was playing before the previews and the theater was really crowded and everyone was talking. Then this old spice came on screen and as soon as they saw the dude the ENTIRE theater went silent. It was crazy. When it went off they actually applauded. Nuts.

Could someone tell me how he went from shorts to jeans? It's driving me crazy.

If you look at his shorts as he's walking in profile (sanding down the counter), you'll notice that he either has an incongruously large bottom, considering the rest of his physique -- or he has has a pair of lightweight jeans bunched up in there, waiting to drop down...

Now, what about the shoes?

Hmmmm. The shoes. I don't think any of that is CGI. Normally the two guys who do these use very minimal CGI. Hell the only CGI element in the shower ad was the wash coming up from the clam, even the diamonds were real, but his hand was a practical. This one has me stumped. I'm going to look more closely as his pants.

The frogmen thing could work. But where the hell did they go?

They could have a cut right before he landed. But that means would have needed to exact same flight path.

Here's my take on the jeans and shoes:

Watch when he enters the hot tub. He goes in a little downstage from the motorcycle, and if you watch his movements once he's in the water he drifts upstage and his weight shifts as though he's sitting sideways on the bike, and I think that's the trick. The legs and shoes are fake - he's basically sitting side saddle.

EDIT: He's not sitting sidesaddle - it looks like he's standing behind the bike. Hmm...this has me perplexed.

Oooh, Butcher points to a potential solution -- look at the very first take, and he has fake legs. As the stage splits, his fake legs go away. So maybe he's standing behind fake legs on the bike?

And, secondly -- after seeing this, is it so hard to imagine where the jeans might come from? Although the boots.... hmmm.

Barry that link FREAKED ME OUT!! How in the HELL!!!??!!!!

I don't think he was standing. The bike looks too thin for that and you can see through the back wheel. If anything he could be kneeling down inside a hollow bike. And the bike and legs fold around him if that makes sense. He is doing something once he hits the water as Butcher mentioned.
