If I try importing any footage recorded on 720 I get the following error in FCP "One or more P2 clips failed to import: probable incomplete or corrupt clips" If I try importing any footage recorded in 1080 or 576 it imports fine with no problem.

Im running FCP 5.0.4

Tried importing clips via panasonic p2 from the camera and from the desktop after using p2 content managment softwear.

the clips are viewable on the fcp import window

im using the top end imac and also the hvx200.

Anyone think they might know an answer? It seems weird that it will import other clips, just not when i film on 720. Sorry if this may have been aswered before, but i searched the forums and fcouldn't find an anwer.

Thank you
Gav

You are using FCP 5.0.4 with an Intel Mac?

Because if that is true, it will not run reliably being a PPC app, not a native Intel app.

Let us know.

Hey David, thanks for the speedy reply. Yeah it's a intel Mac and im running 5.0.4.

hmm, so is there a work around. Anything you would suggest? Or is this a case of getting the PC and Avid back up and running?

Thanks
Gav

I'd suggest upgrading to FCS2.

Or if you feel that Avid on a PC is a better workflow, go that way.

But running FCP in emulation on a MBP is not going to be reliable.

If you are shooting in PN mode and your are receiving the little red "!" next to the clips that don't import try checking off the "remove pulldown" box in the import settings. I had this problem with my 720p24pN clips and unchecking the box seemed to fix it and it doesn't affect the clip at all. I was running FCP 5 as well with this problem.

It depends on the EXACT VERSION of FCP that you are running on what hardware.

FCP 5.1.x will work fine on Intel Macs. FCP 5.0.x won't work fine on Intel Macs.

But please, let's be specific about what we are doing on what with what.
