GH2 Angenieux 9.5mm-57mm T1.6-T2.2 - What mount?

I got this lens when I bought a 16mm Eclair. I don't know what the mount is, but I plan to adapt it to my GH2.

Any of you smart cookies know what mount this is? I'm thinking c-mount? But I've never seen a c-mount before.

Thanks for any help. And if anyone knows if I can even adapt this to a GH2 or if I should just sell it.

Cheers

I'm pretty sure it's an Eclair. But I don't know what mount it has. So here are pictures of how it mounts. It screws on via threads.

interesting, i've never seen a mount like that. Looks like a custom job considering the chrome? Any way to take that part off? FYI, c-mounts have 25mm diameters

There are screw to take it off. I don't know to what extent though as i have not tried it. If this does not seem to be the native mount and it is somehow adapted in some way to fit the eclair, i don't mind taking it apart. But I would need to confirm first. Or else, I may just be unprofessionally disassembling a very valuable lens.

The silver part of your lens mount is the adaptor that actually screws into the Eclair ACL body. Screw the adaptor back onto the camera firmly, then turn the lens itself counter clockwise to remove it from the body/adaptor. It's likely an Eclair CA-1 mount lens.
The 9.5-57 was one of the best lenses ever for hand held "cinema verite" stuff. Using a variety of lens mounts was a strong feature on the ACL. I had adaptors for Eclair, C mount, Nikon and Leica on my ACL2. I'm thinking you'll have a real hard time adapting a lens meant to cover a 16mm frame for the GH2...particularly with that vintage mount.
Hope this helps.

is the resolution loss from using the ETC mode worth it?

To my knowledge...and I am more that willing to accept being wrong....ETC mode (just Ex Tele ON not the Digital zoom as well) still provides full HD in video mode. As for still pictures it's a maximum 1920x1080.

It should also be pointed out that the ETC mode will change the field of view from the 2x crop to a 5.2x crop thereby making the lens a 49.4-296.4mm FOV.

Looks like a c mount angenieux mounted in an eclair adapter ...rather than a native eclair mount. It's a beautiful lens . We'll love to see some results.

angeniux 12-55mm.jpgcame across this Angeniux zoom as well that mystified me... anyone know what this mount is? Most likely 8mm considering size and stuff that came with the lens. The lens is a 1.8 9-36mm. Did not buy it yet as the owner wanted more than I was prepared to pay... told the guy there is only one digital camera the GH2 that might be able to use it but he was holding onto it like it was his last chance at redemption.

I still have to figure out how to remove the eclair CA-1 mount from the lens. It's proving tougher than I thought. any thoughts?

Does it have spanner slots? If so get a spanner wrench or take it to a camera repair shop. Or you could try freezing the mount itself by plugging the hole and spraying it with R134a or R12 (Freon) or similar or just using dry ice in a cloth. This might contract it enough to rotate it.

That is a mount specific to the acl, and you'll need to get it off to find out the native mount of the lens. It could be eclair ca-1 or it could be standard arri. The acl adapter system was the first sort of universal mount and there were several versions. The bare camera could take standard c-mount, and by screwing that adapter on it could take bayonet style lenses. By the back end of the lens I'd wager its arri mount, but you'll need to get it off to find out. A good counter clock wise twist should dislodge it. does the knurled part of the adapter move at all? If it is arri mount there will be something that clamps down to the flange, eclair is just twist lock.

after downloading an old school manual, i think the lens is arriflex in ca-1. but i still can't figure out how to remove it. it doesn't seem to want to come off even twisting counter clockwise
