I think Barry_S is planning on getting more information up tonight.

Chris, check your PM/e-mail ... I sent you one several days back.

Hey this is Blake Balu (Daniel in WANA). Im on the phone with Brian Kaz right now and he'd like to share these few words with you...

"Greetings from sunny Orlando! I just want to say a quick thanks to everyone who chimed in with their thoughts and especially to Jared, Barry and the DVXUSER Players for putting on this fest, allowing me to win a cool DVRIG that I will no doubt use until it falls to pieces. It was alot of fun (for the most part) and I'm looking forward to the next one. Congratulations to the winners and to all the others for actually finishing a movie. For that alone we all deserve a prize!

Well, looks like I'm running 20 seconds over...so I will sign off. :)

Cheers!!

P.S.
Jack- You are a funny, FUNNY guy!!!

Edit- I promise to get WANA uploaded one my site ASAP, just for you!"

Ok, here's an update on the winners in all categories. The following eight films have all won prizes for their respective awards. The Recognition of Excellence awards recognize technical achievement in high scoring films that did not place in the top three spots.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the winners (Spidey, jdanstan, and TheMacB) and all of the winners of the recognition for excellence! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) All of the awards are well deserved. We enjoyed watching all of the movies- some 2 and 3 times. We were so happy to be able to vote and we did on each and every one...only, by the time we finished the spreadsheet the winners were announced (we had last seen the thread saying midnight and assumed midnight PST). ALAS! We had fun doing it anyway. Our votes were very similar. ALL of the entrants deserve a very big round of applause for entering the fest and we thank you for providing us with so many wonderful pieces of entertainment!
We had really wanted to enter this fest...SO- we are looking forward to HERO-fest! We should be able to get our asses in gear for that one!
Once again....congrats to all and thanks to Jarred and Barry for all of their diligence!:dankk2:

(one last post with our sci-fi banner for old times sake)

OK, with more than a few grains of salt, I'm posting the spreadsheet with all the scoring results.

Sci-Fest Ballot Results

Don't get too hung up on the numbers. They're simple averages of all the scores you received in each category. What the scores don't show is that some people loved your film and some didn't care for it as much as other films. The highest scores went to films that appealed to the most users, but this doesn't mean that your film wasn't enjoyed. If your score seems low consider that it's a lot higher than the zeros across the board for us other 12,000 DVXusers that submitted no film. :) The board has the utmost respect for all the filmmakers that managed to complete and enter a film--it's no small task. I haven't seen a single film that didn't have some enjoyable aspect, so congratulations to all and I hope to see your entries in Hero-Fest.

Thanks Barry, and thanks for your commitment to the board and the fest!

when you look at the numbers on the spreadsheet.. be aware that the row number isnt the actual ranking.

Hey, cool! Thanks a lot.

We didn't do too bad, I'm pleased about that! Given the very mixed reviews we got (One guy claiming he'd give us a perfect 10 if only he could vote, others just utterly uimpressed) I wasn't sure how it'd go. It's funny, though, how most of the films' numbers converge. That is, it seems almost universally if people like the cinemetography they also liked the score and the acting. I wonder if that's just overall "professionalism" helping all the scores, or if people are just very prone to the halo effect.

Thanks again for getting these up, nice to see!

Thanks Barry and Jarred.

We placed about where we expected to... there were a few surprises for me looking at the sheet overall, but just a few
