Anamorphic or not? This is the question...

Hi ya all!

I'm Federico, from Italy, and I'm a DVX100B user.

I like cine-like style of my camera, and I was just thinking about buyng 16:9 anamorphic adapter... But I was wandering "with that lens, will the Viewfinder or/and the LCD display show the full frame, from edge to edge, or only a frame in 4:3 aspect ratio?"

You can set the aspect correctto 16:9 and you will see a 16:9 image in the viewfinder with the anamorphic adaptor.

with 100B yes. with 100A or 100 no (for owners of those cams) it shows squeezed on those cams

Definately go with an anamorphic lens. It will even increase your horizontal resolution when used correctly.

the trade off is time and you have to be more careful with focusing.
If you go with the anamorphic make sure you have barry's DVX book which has a focusing with the anamorphic guide (and if you already have it, read that section well obv.) ... I printed out the focus charts, and laminated pocket versions them back in the day.
