..funny, the crackhead guy thats selling the broken one, he has 0 feedback too, haha. I inquired him about that and gave me a novel, quit reading it after the first few sentences and just wanted him to shut his trap

A: Greetings once more "yoclay" - To answer your question: I ALREADY AM!! I've had quite a few of my works published as early as 1971/1972. I did articles on Prosthetic Makeup Techniques for Don Dohler's "CINEMAGIC" magazine, & was the Makeup Editor for the title, before it was sold to the "STARLOG MAGAZINE GROUP", a few years later. I've done a little Sitcom writing (as seen from the 'tongue-in-cheek stylings' of SOME of my responses here!), along w/Screen-Play work, & Treatment projects (like "THE FLY III", which, unfortunately was never made)... I'm also an Actor, SPFX/SPFX Makeup Artist, Live Show Producer ("Planet of the Apes" (Series) & "Logan's Run" (Film)-Based Promotional Tours/Performances, throughout the mid-late 1970's, 80's, & beyond). I've worked as Project Coordinator, Department Head, even as a Second-Unit Director on several productions, including an episode of Warner's "WONDER WOMAN" Series, starring Lynda Carter, entitled, "SPACED-OUT". I dont really care what he does if that made him a sententious person. Go to the market and do this grime bussines style with potatoes, and keep the overpriced broken gear..
 
that dude sounds a bit off and so pretentious about educating newbies it's strange he overlooked how the sale is not happening because of such bad conduct.
knowing the current market demand and high bids anyways on mint items, he could have already had the isco fixed and swallowed the repair bill for a quick sale at a great price.
such valuable items anyways are better sold than lying broken on a shelf.
instead of trying to rip off potential buyers with pompous crooky tactics, it would already have found a new home AND a happy owner...
now the dude just got a bad rep over here, not the kind to be proud of like he is full of himself with his apes achievments...

I see him a bit like the way in which he is trying to sell his object. Something from the past with an over-inflated valuation and a little broken, in need of repair or at the very least re-alignment. He has been on the shelf for a very long time and is need of a little attention.


The fact that he views ebay as a personal forum is very relevant.
He is not really selling the lens, he is selling himself to anyone who will listen. He is definitely living in a not so glorious past, trying to convince himself and everyone else that he is still relevant. He has to charge an outrageous price for the lens, this way he can return to write some more about himself, extoll his opinions and have more contact with his past. I don't think he is selling the lens at an exaggerated price just because he is crooked, I think it's a strange form of denial and inflated sense of personal value.

This is practically docu-material. The Boulevard of Broken Dreams...

Which doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to have a little hole poked in his balloon...!:thumbsup:
