An important accessory: the Follow Focus - Lets start a database of information.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for doing that real quick. I didn't realize you could just turn it 90 degrees and swap the wheel and gear like that. To me, that's much better than the reverse gear option they sell separately. Could you do me a favor and tell me what these measurements are:

1. The width of the gear box (parallel to the rods).
2. The width of the gear and the gear box.
3. Outer diameter of the wheel
...

Yep, just 90 degrees counter clockwise. If you're talking about this reverse gear option, then that's actually made for reversing the direction that you pull focus. For example if you are shooting on nikon glass, but are used to shooting on on cinema lenses, the directions focus are pulled are opposite. By adding that extra gear in there, it reverses the directions.

As for your dimensions:
Width of the Gear Box= 1 3/8"
Width of the Gear Box with Drive Gear= 1 7/8" (If you include the little nub that is on the gear drive in the front it's 2 1/8")
Outer Diameter of the Wheel= 3 1/2"

Thought you were going to ask for the circumference of the wheel too:grin:

And yes, we have two in stock still, but have a bunch on order that should be in by Friday.

Right. I was referring to 2 separate things. Reversing the direction you pull focus AND getting the gear to the other side of the gear box. Your method solves both in that case. However, if for some reason you have to leave the gear how it originally comes, the reverse gear option they have doesn't work well in my opinion. Hopefully they'll have a better solution with V3.

Thanks for the dimensions. I'll have to throw all my lenses on and see if the V2 will work with all of them with the gear box turned 90 degrees.

No need to eye-ball it, if you'd like come down to EVS tomorrow with your lenses and we can try them all out. That's the benefit of having a friendly local camera store:thumbsup:

I'm in from 1-6, we should have some goofys left in rentals, but if not, I can change one of the floor models for you real quick.

Thanks for that. Probably can't make it in tomorrow, but if I can I'll stop by while you're there. Otherwise maybe middle of next week.

good thread, been a long time since i think anyone has done a FF roundup, perhaps someone can put a running list of the units, prices, pros, cons.
