An entire summer (shot in 2 days) music video

Nice editing! However I would use a steadicam... too shaky for me. Just remember practice makes perfect! Keep it up!

Great song! Excellent shot selection. But yeah, a bit of a problem with the
micro-jitters and slightly jumpy zoom. Not quite ready for prime time
but knocking loudly on the door.

yes. very good just like others said just way too much micro jitters remember you're holding a stills photo dslr in your hand not a arri 435. I'd use a steadycam and then it'd be perfect. great music too

I didn't really notice much micro jitters, I thought the shots and story you were telling was executed really well, so I was sucked into the video and not looking too much at the "technical side", which is a good thing. I thought a lot of your shots were really good... and the pool stuff was really cool too.. especially the sparklers too! Well edited, great video! You should be very proud!

I hear ya, but you do also see that its suppose to be shaky and the zoom is not suppose to smooth right ? As if it were shot by a friend along on the journey. I will say altho I wanted it shaky feel, I wish I would gone with a shoulder mount instead of handheld

Hey Nathan,

I watched it a couple more times and I will definitely take back the jumpy
zoom comment. Just noticed it in the shot with the lead vocalist's head
out the car window which sticks out only because it is one of the only
quick zooms in the video, but it looks fine.

This is really beautifully shot and you should be proud of it. Handheld camera
shake is fine, but lightweight dslr shake is a bit grating. Maybe we haven't been
accustomed to it yet, so it seems like trying to focus after being sprayed with mace and this
is why many people talk about adding mass to these small cameras to slow their rate of shake. (There must be some technical term for this but I don't know what it is.)

In the video I only noticed it for about a second or less in each shot. Somewhere
around :17, :27, :53, 1:03, 1:27, and maybe a little at 2:42. Otherwise it
was beautifully smooth shot making. Butter.

On closer inspection, I can't help but be impressed by the excellent editing in this video.
It is so in concert with the music. Outstanding.

This is a great video. If you cut about a 100 frames, no one will be talking about micro-jitters
or the need for a steadicam.

All the best.

thanks man! I appreciate it. your for sure right about the Dslr shake part, the majority of a slrs weight is usually in the lens, so your right its weight distribution is not handheld friendly at all haha.

thanks for the comment about editing, I have to say I enjoy editing to the music quite a bit.
