I was up shooting some HDV of mountaintop removal sites in eastern Kentucky yesterday and this occurred to me. We were in a little 4-seat plane and it was raining, so shooting through the windshield wasn't working. I was shooting with a JVC HD-100 and I opened the window and shot out the side, but that presented me with the side of the camera that has no viewfinder or flip-out screen and there was very little room in the cockpit, so I had to crane my neck over the camera and try to get glimpses of the LCD. It was very difficult to do well. It would have been very handy to have an LCD panel I could remove from the left side of the camera and remount on the right side. Or a viewfinder that could be remounted on the other side of the camera. Anything, really.
