This is a great deal for anyone who is thinking of purchasing the HPX500 or similar camera
I am trying to raise the last bit of a production budget for a web series within the next 3 weeks. I am swamped with pre production on this project and post on several others, so I thought I would offer up my equipment at a severely reduced rate to see if I could get some people to try out this wonderful camera package.
The HPX500 package includes:
-Panasonic HPX500 2/3" P2HD shoulder mount camcorder
-Fujinon HAc15x7.3 compact cinema zoom lens
-Panasonic BT-LH 80 7.9" LCD HD monitor (w/ HD-SDI input)
-Chroziel matte box and support rods
-Cinetech follow focus
-(2) Anton Bauer Dionic 160 batteries and dual charger
-(2) 32gb P2 cards
-Bogen 526 heavy duty fluid head tripod and sticks
This package retails around $57,000. To those who are looking for RED, or the EX series, or a DSLR, or some other flash in the pan fancy new technology, I'd say take a look at the footage this thing creates and see if you think it is capable of a high budget look. A commercial I shot with this package can be seen here:

The lens, top end glass used on films such as Collateral, Miami Vice, and Star Wars Episode III, claims $30K of that total. Glass like this means this camera performs at the sharpest, and most color rich of its already considerable capabilities. This Fujinon cine zoom maintains an iris of T-2.0 throughout its entire zoom, meaning you get cinema quality depth of field (matching that of super 16mm film) on any length of its 7.3mm-110mm zoom (that’s 9.7-145.5 mm in Super 16, or 18.1-272.3 mm in Academy 35).
So to get down to the deal, I am willing to let this camera work on your shoot for $375/day (3 days charged for a week), or $500/weekend.
This deal is only good for the next three weeks, which means if you haven't booked it come December 1st, these rates are returning to normal.
