Am I missing something or is this just bad luck?

hi,

i just got 2 brand new **64gb SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-1 (95MB's / 633x) media cards.

both have been formatted (multiple times) in a brand new 70D and also formatted in my 5DmkIII & a C100.

**NEITHER WORK**.

i just get the error message to *initialize / ignore / eject*.

in the camera i *can* play back photos and video.

am i missing something here or has there been a bad run on SanDiskk SD cards?

I've never owned a 64gb card.

bought these from B and H so i know they can't be 2nds in any way.

thoughts? anybody?

EDIT:
i have an older card reader. it the kind that accommodates multiple kind of media. could that be a factor?

If the cameras show the pics etc, I would think the problem is in the card reader. I have a very old one that shows that problem with SD cards that are 2GB or bigger. I guess the one you have doesn't support SDXC, which is used for cards 64GB and bigger. Borrow a newer one and see if it solves the problem.

yeah, ill look into getting a new card reader that can handle the newer type of SD media.
