Alternative to P2 Viewer on Windows XP?

Can anyone recommend an alternative to the Panasonic P2 Viewer and P2CMS software that actually works? All I want to do is load a P2 card into my PCMCIA slot, drag it to my HD using Windows Explorer, then quickly check a few clips in some kind of viewer.

P2 Viewer seems to only work intermittently for me. Plus, all of Panasonic's software seems sloppy and very non intuitive. Even if I have to pay a bit of $ to get something robust and reliable, I would rather do that.

It would be a plus if the software had an option to view clips in high quality, as well as lower quality previews.

Well, TEP from Imagine Software can do all that; it's not the least-expensive software on the planet but it'll do the job you're asking for.Panasonic's P2CMS is another free software package, but at its core it's also P2 Viewer so I don't know if you'll find it more successful for you or not.If you've already installed P2 Viewer, you can view MXF files in Windows Media Player so you don't need to actually run P2 Viewer to do what you're talking about (although WMP will display the footage at the wrong aspect ratio...)

Thanks, Barry. I will look into TEP.

Yeah, used P2CMS with varying success. Very poorly written software, but I guess you can't expect much from free software designed by a hardware company. But at least their cameras rock!
