I have the QV-1 M for the Panasonic GH4. It is a sturdy well made easy to use LCD viewfinder loupe. The video (be sure to watch it) shows the QV-1 and the QV-1 kit with rails demonstrated on a Rebel, but points out in the end it has been tried on the Canon 5D series so it will work fine on your 60D.
I use Manfrotto 501/701 quick release on all tripods and shoulder rigs so the base can be left on the camera. It's a neat amazing piece of gear for the price.
From the same company Bruce mentioned, I would recommend the VF-4 Viewfinder! http://www.photographyandcinema.com...ers/products/vf-4-plus-with-extension-bracket
There is a VF-4 version, a VF-4 plus version (same viewfinder with some extras), and then an extension you can get bundled with either version that allows it to be used with battery grips or larger cameras.
Wonderful item! You maybe able to get it cheaper on Amazon or eBay though.
I have a Z finder, but it was too heavy for my 60D. I wanted something light with a diopter corrector. This is what I been using. The swivel screen will stay angled when it is attached but barely. With the attachment ring glued on you can only close the screen with the screen out.
