As usual, I've probably bitten off more than I can chew. At the moment, I'm designing and building the cockpit for the starfighter. This is a one man ship, so the interior is tight - like a fighter jet. The whole thing will be on a movable gimble with a greenscreen surround. My ever patient wife is busy sewing up a black and gray leather flightsuit and modifying some military surplus items for the accessories. I'm CGing the ship, asteroids, a barren moon and many, many starfields.
Action in outer space. Should be fun - if I have the time to pull it off.

Thanks Chris, I just love goofing around with this stuff. I learn more each time I do it. I'll always be restricted by budget, deadlines and lack of a computer farm for rendering, but I'm still liking some of the stuff I've put together so far. In the long run, it's still the story that's going to make or break any film.

Posted a scene from Alone at the start of the thread. I'm never sure why YouTube stuff always looks jerky. Maybe it's the frame rate. Anyway, watch it at 1080 if you can and rest assured it looks smooth - except on YouTube.

what framerate was it on in the first place? I think it might be a problem with the motion blur instead

Frame rate was 23.976 progressive. It looks fine on my monitors, big screen TV and on a Blu-Ray test I did. Motion blur is not the problem, YouTube is.
