Alone on the race track

I shot this one in the beginning of October in the middle of Sweden. At first I hoped on getting this one ready after a week but due to the clients tight schedule it's on hold. This is my cut without clients graphics.

It was a fun day but really bad weather. It didn't rain but cloudy and cold. Got my feet wet when running around the race track! Interesting to be close to a roaring race car passing by just a meter away.

All my cameras came to use. I had the Canon 7D on a tripod and handheld. The GH1 was mounted inside the Porsche and finally I had a suction cup mounted outside of the car to get some interesting cut away with a Panasonic FT1.

I think all cameras worked well together in this edit.
Everything edited in Avid and graded in AE.
Audio all from the 7D and GH1 internal mic.

That was awesome.

I really dug the look. It really gave it a nostalgic kinda feel.

Cool. Nice car!

How did you do the audio? What did you use to attached the camera to the outside of the car? How did you get such nice steady shots inside the car? What lens inside the car did you use? What is this video going to become? Is this the Spanish Inquisition?

Great job. I'm just starting a project that includes some really great cars. One of them is the light blue and white Bugattii in this video, it won best in class at Pebble Beach. He also has some great exotic cars.

I do this primarily for myself [by myself] and since the 7D has come out I decided I'd try and produce something much better with this and a couple of other collections. For me I'm just combining my [now] hobby with their hobby, its a lot of fun and I get to drive some incredible cars to boot.

Are you in Sweden? If so do you ever come to Southern California? If so, and your interested let me know and I can show you some great cars.

Okay, okay take it slow... Audio was captured by the internal mics on the 7D and the GH1. I had a suction cup attached to one of the doors and yes the doors are super lightweight on a race car. The GH1 was inside set to 720p and I used the stock lens which has stabilised optics. It worked out very good mounted on the internal frame of the car with a heavy duty grip.

The final version is to promote a new Swedish driver for the Porsche team in Europe. It might look a bit pointless at the end but when the final version comes out you'll see it all works out great.

It would be nice to go to California again, been ten years since I visited last time and I loved it.

Thanks for the update.

I recently returned from a ten day trip to Stockholm, absolutely loved it.

Really nice. I loved the pace of the video, and the variety of angles covered. Kept it very interesting and energetic. Especially loved the grade! Very dirty, noisy image - worked well with the moody overcast & wet scene.

My only real criticism would be that I'd have liked to have seen more of the externally mounted shots, from different positions on the car.

I tried to mount the suction cup on other locations outside the car but due to the paint job I couldn't get it to stick. But it would have been great if it worked!

Very cool. Nice grading.

Music was cool until it cut out. Give me some bass as the car starts going fast!

Dude! This was very well shot!

I see a little Top Gear in it (one of my favorite shows).

Well done.

Very nice video!

Really good editing also, really built the tension before the car took off. My one gripe is that there is a TON of grain on the outside shots at the beginning, it made me cringe, but other than that beautiful footage.

Editorial note, is that a MARTINI porsche? Wow! Thats like the same porsche as jazz from the transformers!
